  • 8. By agreeing to these terms, you understand that the whales and Northern lights are not guaranteed. Of course the winter months are the most likely of all the months and why this is being organised at this time. This also means the daylight hours are limited to the blue light hours, and the activities will be working within the lower light levels. The Husky sledding and cross country skiing still run through the darker hours for the best chance to see the Northern lights. The photographs on our site are based on location and not season, the polar night means the sun doesn't rise above the horizon and the blue light creates the daylight hours. You can find photos of the blue light within the gallery. However from approx 15th January the Sun starts to appear on the horizon and this is a special time for the local area.
  • 9. Kayaking as well as all the activities within this expedition in Northern Norway are assumed risk sports and can be quite challenging at this time of year. You are required to have previous "sit in" kayak experience as per our separate questionnaire, ensure you have filled this in prior to booking. Also kayaking in the fjords can have its dangers whilst traversing through the Humpback whale's natural habitat. Of course you are with the best guides for sea rescue but no one can predict the actions of whales. This life experience will be ethical and peaceful from our part, but the experience has to be at your own risk. By agreeing to these terms, you are confirming this is your choice to experience kayaking with whales and keeping a safe distance, however you understand any risks caused by whales not keeping their distance is not within our control. If unsure, It is advisable to search images online for kayaking with whales to make a reasonable judgement.
  • 10. The weather condition will be assessed prior to all activities with safety being paramount. If for any reason the weather is proving too dangerous to continue or start a particular activity, the activity will need to be cancelled for the safety of team members. Should the weather restrict the activity, please be aware of a potential surcharge to replace with a similar activity for the area and climate. As this is a pilot expedition, guides are not being paid and therefore a refund is not possible. We will ensure everything is done to replace the activity with something suitable for the conditions, this will be discussed with team members at the time and notified if further costs are involved. If this is not acceptable to you, we advise you to speak with adventure sports travel Insurers to cover you for losses of cancelled activities due to extreme weather.
